Descrizione del rovescio The reverse is essentially plain, printed on white cotton paper with only faint ghost impressions of the obverse design visible through the sheet. The handwritten year '1885' appears in manuscript at the centre of the otherwise blank face, consistent with a specimen or unissued note with minimal reverse printing.

The Banco de Maracaibo was a regional institution based in Venezuela's second city, operating in an era when the country's banking sector was fragmented among competing state-chartered and regional banks, each issuing their own paper. The American Bank Note Company handled a significant share of Latin American private bank printing in this period, and the quality differential between ABNC-printed notes and locally produced alternatives was stark enough that it actually influenced public acceptance.

Pick 195 is among the scarcer pieces from this issuer. The Banco de Maracaibo's charter was revoked during Venezuela's late-19th-century banking consolidations, cutting short the circulation life of the series.
