Surrounding this central cartouche is a concentric band of Low German legend in raised hammered lettering, reading INT. RIKE. GODES. EIN. KONINCK. VPRECHT. OVE` AL. EIN. GODT. EIN. GELOVE. EIN. DOEPE, proclaiming the Anabaptist theological tenets of one God, one faith, one baptism.
