| Obverse description | Central field features the state emblem of the Mongolian People's Republic — a circular device depicting a horseman before a rising sun over mountains, encircled by wheat sheaves and a ribbon bearing the Soyombo symbol at the base. The date 1992 is divided to either side of the emblem, with the denomination 1000 inscribed below. The legend MONGOLIAN PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC curves along the upper periphery in Latin script, while the Mongolian traditional script rendering of the denomination appears at the bottom of the field. The coin displays a two-tone proof finish with a frosted relief against a mirror-polished field on one half and a contrasting blackened field on the other. |
