Beschrijving voorzijde The full Ugandan coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring an escutcheon supported by a Uganda kob (antelope) to the left and a grey crowned crane to the right, with a sun rising above the shield and a scroll bearing the national motto at the base. The legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by the date 1998 divided across the lower field on either side of the shield. The denomination 1000 SHILLINGS curves along the lower legend, and the national motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY appears on the scroll within the coat of arms. The rim is defined by a prominent toothed (dentilated) border throughout.

Beschrijving keerzijde The central field features a colorized reproduction of the Swiss 30-rappen postage stamp commemorating the San Bernardino Tunnel, depicting an alpine mountain landscape in green and blue tones with a stylized red-bordered triangular tunnel warning sign in the foreground. The stamp facsimile bears the inscriptions 30, HELVETIA, and TUNNEL S. BERNARDINO within its design and is presented with a perforated border as on an original philatelic item. The legend FAMOUS PLACES OF THE WORLD arcs along the upper periphery of the coin, while SAN BERNARDINO curves along the lower legend. The field surrounding the stamp inset is polished and plain, enclosed by a dentilated rim.
