A Lancaster bomber, flown low over a designated drop zone, releases food parcels from its bomb bay, with additional aircraft visible in the sky above. A traditional Dutch windmill rises prominently in the right field, anchoring the composition within the Netherlands landscape and serving as a powerful symbol of national identity. Selective gold plating highlights the Lancaster bombers, the falling supply packages, and the windmill, lending a vivid three-dimensional contrast to the finely engraved silver field. The double date 1945–2020 inscribed within the legend commemorates the 75th anniversary of the wartime humanitarian airlift. |
