Obverse description The selectively gold-plated obverse presents the right-facing effigy of King George VI, modelled by T.H. Paget, occupying the central field. The royal portrait is rendered in high relief, faithful to the wartime-era Canadian coinage tradition. A 'V for Victory' privy mark appears in the field as a commemorative device referencing the Second World War. The encircling legend reads GEORGIVS VI D : G : REX ET IND : IMP :, with the denomination 100 DOLLARS and the engraver's initials HP also present. The gold-plated rim frames the design on both sides.
