Selective gold plating highlights the Lancaster bombers, the falling supply packages, and the windmill, lending a vivid three-dimensional contrast to the finely engraved silver field. The double date 1945–2020 inscribed within the legend commemorates the 75th anniversary of the wartime humanitarian airlift. |
