| Obverse description | Typeset Notgeld Gutschein on buff paper, enclosed within a double-ruled border with repeating scroll ornamental bands along the upper and lower edges. The issuing authority "Stadtgemeinde Pirmasens" is set in bold Fraktur lettering across the upper register flanked by asterisks, with the denomination "100,000 Mk." in a boxed panel at left and a series and serial number box at upper right; the denomination in words, "Hunderttausend Mark", appears in large bold Fraktur type at centre below the legend "Gutschein über". The date "Pirmasens, 5. September 1923" is placed at lower left, flanked by a circular official municipality seal at centre and two manuscript signatures of the Bürgermeisteramt to the right, with the redemption notice printed along the lower margin. |
