Descrizione del dritto	Central motif of a Hō-ō (mythical phoenix) facing right, flanked symmetrically by two small Paulownia flower seals in the field. The legend 日本國 (State of Japan) appears along the upper periphery, while the lower legend reads 昭和　年 (Year of Shōwa), with the reign year intentionally left blank as befits a pattern piece. The design is executed in high relief against a flat field, with a raised rim encircling the entire obverse.

Descrizione del rovescio	A symmetrical wreath composed of Hollyhock (Mallow) blossoms and foliage frames the central field, with two large blooms flanking either side and leafy sprays extending around the upper and lower periphery. At the center, the kanji character 円 (Yen) appears in bold relief, deliberately omitting any numeral denomination, consistent with the pattern nature of the piece. The field within the wreath is plain and polished, and the design is bounded by a raised rim. The overall composition is bold and deeply struck, characteristic of a presentation or trial piece.
