背面描述 A gold-plated representation of Concorde in dynamic diagonal flight occupies the central field, depicted from a low angle with its characteristic delta wing planform and drooped nose clearly rendered. The background features a stylized architectural motif suggesting a runway or terminal structure with concentric arc lines in the lower field evoking motion and speed. The legend CONCORDE 1969-2003 arcs along the upper portion of the field, while TEN POUNDS is inscribed in the lower right quadrant. The selectively gold-plated Concorde effigy contrasts dramatically against the polished silver field, a design attributed to engraver Emma Noble.

附加信息

Concorde's final commercial flights took place on October 24, 2003, when Air France retired its fleet, followed by British Airways on October 26. The decision to withdraw was driven not by airworthiness concerns alone but by the economic collapse of the aircraft's passenger base after the July 2000 Air France crash near Paris and the post-September 11 downturn — together, they made the already marginal operating economics unworkable.

Alderney, a Crown dependency with no direct stake in British aviation, had nonetheless issued Concorde commemoratives since the 1990s, treating the aircraft as a reliably saleable subject for the collector market. This 155-gram five-ounce piece is among the larger formats in that run.
