| Beschrijving voorzijde | Hammered silver flan bearing multi-line Persian or Nagari legend arranged in two horizontal bands separated by a raised line, with dot clusters distributed across the upper field serving as decorative or mint-mark elements. The inscription is rendered in bold relief in a style consistent with Rajput princely coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. The overall die-work is characteristic of the irregular, hand-struck fabric typical of Jaisalmer State issues. |

Jaisalmer was among the most isolated mints in Rajputana — the fortress city sits deep in the Thar Desert, and its coinage reflects a economy built more on caravan taxation than agricultural surplus. Ranjit Singh ruled from 1762 to 1820, which creates an immediate difficulty: a coin attributed to his reign and dated 1756 predates his accession by six years. The date almost certainly reflects a frozen or ceremonial regal year carried forward from an earlier authority, a practice common in Rajput states where continuous dynastic legitimacy mattered more than calendrical precision.
