| Descrizione del dritto | The Cuban national arms occupies the centre of the obverse, depicting a shield divided into three quarters: the upper section shows a golden key between two rocky headlands on a blue sea, the lower-left quarter bears diagonal blue and white stripes representing the original Cuban provinces, and the lower-right quarter displays a royal palm tree on a plain. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap atop a fasces and is supported on either side by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, their stems bound at the base. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 1 PESO is inscribed in the lower field, with a five-pointed star flanking each side near the lower rim. |
