| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays the crowned letter 'G', the municipal initial of Göttingen, enclosed within a plain circle. A small crescent or ornamental device appears within the letter. The date is partially visible to the left of the central device, reading portions of the year 1622 or 1623. The surrounding legend reads MO • NO • GOTTIN •, identifying this as a new coin of Göttingen. The overall style is characteristic of crude hammered municipal coinage of the early seventeenth century. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a standing figure of the Virgin Mary, shown frontally in flowing robes, holding the Christ Child in her left arm. The composition is rendered in the naive, flat style typical of hammered Kipper und Wipperzeit small silver coinage. Flanking the figure to either side are stylized foliate or branch-like ornaments. The circumferential legend reads S • MARIA • MATER • DEI, identifying the subject as Saint Mary, Mother of God, in accordance with the Mariengroschen denomination tradition. |
