| 裏面の説明 | The reverse bears a standing figure of the Virgin Mary, shown frontally in flowing robes, holding the Christ Child in her left arm. The composition is rendered in the naive, flat style typical of hammered Kipper und Wipperzeit small silver coinage. Flanking the figure to either side are stylized foliate or branch-like ornaments. The circumferential legend reads S • MARIA • MATER • DEI, identifying the subject as Saint Mary, Mother of God, in accordance with the Mariengroschen denomination tradition. |
