| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George VI, modelled by Thomas Humphrey Paget, occupies the central field. The portrait is rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a draped collar at the truncation, where the engraver's initials 'HP' appear. The circumferential legend reads GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP., separated by raised dots and running clockwise from the lower left. The entire design is framed by a continuous milled border of fine beads. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Australian florins of this period were struck in sterling silver throughout the war years, even as Britain itself abandoned silver coinage in 1920 and later debased further in 1947. The Commonwealth maintained .925 fineness partly from convention and partly because Australian silver production made it economically defensible — the country was among the world's largest silver producers.
The 1945 issue is the key date, with mintage figures sharply curtailed late in the war.
