MacGill is depicted wearing a pin signifying her role as provincial (Ontario) and national president of the Canadian Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs. In the upper field, a silhouette of the Maple Leaf Trainer II — the first aircraft designed and manufactured under a woman's direction — is rendered in colour, alongside a reference to her wartime contribution overseeing mass production of the Hawker Hurricane.
