| 备注 |
The 1954 series is best known for the "Devil's Face" controversy — early printings showed the Queen's hair highlighted in a way that appeared to many observers to contain a demonic profile in the shadows behind her ear. The Canadian Bank Note Company modified the hair shading in 1956 to eliminate the effect, creating a clean distinction between the earlier "Devil's Face" and later "Modified" varieties that collectors now treat as separate issues entirely.
The Rasminsky/Towers signature combination listed under 1972 warrants scrutiny — Towers had left the Bank of Canada governorship in 1954, and any such pairing on this series would be anomalous. Verify against the physical note before cataloging.
