Beschrijving voorzijde	Central field dominated by a trident (trishula) depicted in bold relief, flanked by Devanagari legends arranged in horizontal registers divided by incuse lines. The royal epithet and name of the ruler, reading 'Shri 2 Jaya Mahindra', are inscribed in Devanagari script surrounding the central device. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, typical of hammered Nepalese coinage of the period. The irregular flan reflects the hand-struck manufacture characteristic of early eighteenth-century Kathmandu issues.

Aanvullende informatie	Mahindra Simha ruled Kathmandu for only a few years in the early eighteenth century, one of the last kings of the Malla dynasty before Prithvi Narayan Shah's conquest of the valley in 1768 ended three centuries of Malla coinage traditions. The fractional mohar denominations of this period were struck by hand using traditional Nepalese techniques, with dies cut locally and often showing considerable variation between individual pieces — what appears as inconsistency is simply the nature of the production method.
