| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a trident (trishula) depicted in bold relief, flanked by Devanagari legends arranged in horizontal registers divided by incuse lines. The royal epithet and name of the ruler, reading 'Shri 2 Jaya Mahindra', are inscribed in Devanagari script surrounding the central device. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, typical of hammered Nepalese coinage of the period. The irregular flan reflects the hand-struck manufacture characteristic of early eighteenth-century Kathmandu issues. |
