The denomination fractions '1' and '2' flank the shield to left and right respectively, with 'GL' (Gulden) to the lower right. A continuous Latin circular legend runs along the toothed border, reading MO ARG ORD FÆD BELG HOLL 1/2 GL, identifying this as the silver money of the Federated Belgian Orders of Holland. The overall engraving style is characteristic of late Dutch Republic milled coinage. |

The figure stands upon a decorative ground line, her flowing garments rendered with fine engraver's detail in the Baroque tradition. The bifurcated Latin legend HANC TVEMVR HAC NITIMVR curves around the toothed border to left and right, translating as 'On her we lean, her we protect.' |
