| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays the crowned arms of Holland — a shield bearing a rampant lion to sinister brandishing a sword, surmounted by an ornate royal crown rendered in high relief. The denomination fractions '1' and '2' flank the shield to left and right respectively, with 'GL' (Gulden) to the lower right. A continuous Latin circular legend runs along the toothed border, reading MO ARG ORD FÆD BELG HOLL 1/2 GL, identifying this as the silver money of the Federated Belgian Orders of Holland. The overall engraving style is characteristic of late Dutch Republic milled coinage. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a standing draped female figure personifying the Maid of Holland, depicted facing three-quarters to the left in classical robes. She raises her right hand aloft holding a pole topped with a broad-brimmed hat — the traditional liberty cap on a pole — while her left arm rests upon an ornate pedestal or altar bearing the crowned arms of Holland. The figure stands upon a decorative ground line, her flowing garments rendered with fine engraver's detail in the Baroque tradition. The bifurcated Latin legend HANC TVEMVR HAC NITIMVR curves around the toothed border to left and right, translating as 'On her we lean, her we protect.' |
