| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, as sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted diademed and draped with her characteristic mature portrait. The legend SOLOMON ISLANDS arcs along the upper border, flanked by decorative Greek key meander motifs at the corners, while the denomination HALF DOLLAR appears to either side of the effigy in the field. The date 2020 is positioned along the lower border, also flanked by Greek key ornamental bands, with the engraver's initials IRB visible beneath the portrait truncation. |
