The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, characteristic of hand-struck hammered coinage of the Golden Horde period. The die is somewhat off-centre, with portions of the legend partially cut off at the flan edges. The overall style reflects the epigraphic coinage tradition of the Islamic steppe khanates of the mid-13th century. |
