| 裏面の説明 | A large Sigma (Σ) rendered in the archaic three-bar form dominates the centre of the reverse, serving as the initial or civic symbol of Sikyon. The magistrate's name ΚΛΕΑΝΔΡΟΣ is distributed around the Sigma in the field, with letters arranged in quadrants to fill the available space. The entire design is set within a square incuse, a hallmark of Sikyonian coinage of this period. The incuse border is clearly defined with sharp, straight edges. The lettering is in the Greek alphabet, neatly executed in the epichoric style characteristic of the Peloponnesian mint. |
