Obverse description Heavily stylized, schematic facing bust with elongated features and long hair rendered in a degenerate late antique style characteristic of early Merovingian coinage. The effigy is depicted frontally within a beaded or cable border, with the facial details reduced to abstract forms. The surrounding legend, partially legible, reads D N TEO[ ]AHA[ ]VS, a corrupted rendering of the royal title and name of Theuderic II. The overall execution reflects the declining die-engraving tradition of the period.
