| 背面描述 | A bold Latin cross occupies the central field, enclosed within a raised inner circle or beaded border, flanked by the letters Λ and C to either side of the cross arms. The cross is rendered with splayed terminals in a style typical of Merovingian ecclesiastical influence on coinage. A surrounding legend in Latin around the outer field names the moneyer Bertoaldus, the inscription partially retrograde and irregularly spaced. The overall composition is characteristic of Frankish tremisses of the Verdun mint, with the cross serving as the primary reverse device replacing the earlier imperial Victory type. |
