| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stylised animal, most probably a horse or boar, is depicted in profile occupying the central field, rendered in the highly abstracted Celtic artistic convention. The creature's body is composed of bold curved lines with pellet ornaments indicating joints or decorative features, and a prominently curved neck and haunches. Scattered pellets and abbreviated decorative elements fill the surrounding field. A partial Latin legend, reading TINC, is present around the periphery, identifying the issuer as Tincomarus. The execution is typical of late Iron Age British coinage of the Atrebatic series. |
