| Obverse description | Diademed and helmeted bust of King Strato I facing right, wearing a crested Macedonian-style helmet adorned with a diadem and a bull's horn at the side, draped in a chlamys visible at the shoulder. The portrait is rendered in a fine Hellenistic style with strong facial features, a prominent nose, and a determined expression typical of Indo-Greek royal portraiture. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy within the border of the flan, reading BAΣIΛEΩΣ EΠΦANOYΣ ΣΩTHPOΣ ΣTPATΩNOΣ, meaning 'Of King Strato, the Illustrious Saviour.' |
