| Obverse description | Youthful male head facing right, depicted as Herakles wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, the scalp knotted beneath the chin with the paws draped over the shoulder. The hair is rendered in thick, flowing locks in the late Hellenistic style, with fine detail on the lion's mane framing the face. The features are idealised yet vigorous, consistent with posthumous Alexandrine coinage produced by Mesembria. The field is smooth and unadorned, with no legend on the obverse. |
