The hero is clad in the lion skin headdress — the scalp drawn over the crown with the beast's jaws framing the face and the forelegs knotted at the throat — serving as his divine attribute. The modeling of the facial features is accomplished with considerable artistry, with well-defined brow, prominent nose, and sensitively rendered lips. The hair, partially visible beneath the pelt, curls naturally at the temples and nape. |
