The facial features are finely modelled in the Lysippan tradition, with crisp detailing to the curling locks of hair. The field is plain, and the design is framed by a beaded border around the coin's irregular flan. |

| Description du revers | Zeus Aetophoros seated left on a low-backed throne, his torso bare and lower body draped, holding a long sceptre upright in his left hand and extending his right hand to present an eagle perched with wings folded. In the left field, the magistrate's monogram ΑΡ appears above a symbol. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs downward along the right field, while ΑΡΓΕΙΟΣ is inscribed in the lower exergual area, identifying the issuing magistrate Argeios. The design follows the standard posthumous Alexandrine type, struck at Chios in the early second century BC. |
