| Obverse description | Facing right, the youthful heroic head of Herakles rendered in high relief, wearing the lion skin headdress with the scalp knotted beneath the chin and the forepaws draped over the shoulder. The facial features are finely modelled in the Lysippan tradition, with crisp detailing to the curling locks of hair. The field is plain, and the design is framed by a beaded border around the coin's irregular flan. |
