Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Antiochus I of Commagene facing right, wearing the distinctive Armenian tiara of Tigranes II, the tall pointed crown adorned with a central star motif flanked by two eagles displayed in the field. The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition, with fine detail in the hair and facial features characteristic of late Seleucid-influenced die engraving.

Reverse description Tyche of Antioch seated upon a rocky outcrop, holding a palm branch or laurel branch in her extended right hand, personifying the fortune of the city. Below her feet, the river god Orontes swims to the right, represented as a youthful male figure emerging from waves, a standard Hellenistic convention for depicting sacred rivers. The Greek royal legend is disposed in two lines in the fields to either side of the central type.
