Beschrijving voorzijde Facing head of Helios depicted en face, rendered in high relief with finely detailed wavy hair radiating symmetrically around the visage and parted at the center of the forehead. The facial features are modeled with naturalistic precision characteristic of early fourth-century Rhodian coinage, with pronounced brow ridges, deeply set almond-shaped eyes, and a subtly parted mouth. The overall treatment reflects the accomplished die-cutting tradition of the Rhodian mint following the synoikism of 408 BC. No inscription appears on the obverse, the design filling the flan in the bold, sculptural style associated with the Chian-Rhodian weight standard.

Beschrijving keerzijde A fully open rose bloom depicted facing upward with multiple spreading petals and a central bud or seed pod on a short stem, occupying the central field; flanking the stem are two secondary buds. In the lower left field appears the Greek letter Xi (Ξ), serving as a magistrate's or denomination control mark, while in the lower right field a caduceus symbol is visible as a secondary control mark. The legend ΡΟΔΙΟΝ is inscribed along the upper periphery in retrograde-reading Greek capitals, identifying the issuing city. The composition is bold and heraldic, consistent with Rhodian civic coinage of the early fourth century BC.
