| Descrizione del dritto | Central motif consisting of a heraldic shield bearing a crowned rampant lion passant to the left, rendered in the bold, somewhat crude style characteristic of 13th-century Low Countries hammered coinage. The shield occupies the majority of the field, with the crowned lion displaying pronounced claws and tail. A circular legend in uncial Latin surrounds the central device, reading HENRICVS DNS (Henry, Lord), separated by a cross pattée. The flan is irregular and slightly concave as is typical of contemporary sterlings from the Meuse valley region. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A voided long cross extending to the coin's edge divides the reverse into four quadrants, each containing a single letter of the moneyer's name, with small pellets or balls ornamenting the terminals of each arm of the cross. The cross arms terminate in trefoil or pellet finials, consistent with the esterlin type of the Meuse region. The circular legend in uncial Latin, reading P E T R DE HARSSTAL, identifies the moneyer as Peter of Herstal, separated by a cross. The overall execution reflects the local workshop tradition of the Lordship of Herstal during the second half of the 13th century. |
