| Opis awersu | Within a beaded inner circle, a royal crown rendered in high relief occupies the central field, depicted in a stylised Gothic manner with three fleurs-de-lis finials rising from the band. The crown rests over a hatched or striated base element. Surrounding the beaded circle, a circular legend in uncial Latin characters reads the royal title of Erik, King of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. The flan is irregular, as is typical of hammered coinage of this period. |

Erik of Pommern — Erik VII to the Danes — ruled under the Kalmar Union, the joint Scandinavian monarchy his great-aunt Margrete I had engineered and which he formally inherited in 1397. The Næstved mint was one of several Danish provincial operations active under his reign, producing small silver pennies for local circulation at a moment when the Union's monetary policy was anything but unified across its three crowns.
The SIEG reference places this firmly within Hede's expanded attributions for the type. Næstved's output from this period is notably sparse in surviving examples.
