Obverse description Bare diademed head of Diodotos facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with curly hair swept back from the forehead; the royal diadem with its characteristic flowing ties is clearly visible behind the neck. The portrait is youthful and idealized, displaying fine modelling of the facial features typical of early Baktrian coinage. A beaded border encircles the design, and the field is otherwise unadorned.
