Echinos was a small Akarnanian settlement whose coinage output was modest by any measure — the reference variants alone suggest the surviving population of this type is too thin for firm die studies. Akarnania's federal coinage structure in this period meant most communities struck under collective arrangements, making autonomous civic issues like this one relatively unusual and chronologically difficult to pin down within the forty-five year window the type spans.
