| Obverse description | Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Theodosius I facing right, depicted with characteristic curling hair adorned with a pearl diadem. The emperor wears a heavily decorated paludamentum fastened at the shoulder with an ornate fibula.
