| Beschrijving keerzijde | Incuse square containing an Egyptian ankh symbol set within two concentric circles, one solid and one dotted, a syncretic religious motif reflecting Phoenician and Egyptian cultural influence on Cypriot coinage. The Cypriot syllabic sign 'pa' appears within the loop of the ankh, while four additional Cypriot syllabic signs are disposed in the corners of the incuse square, together forming part of the royal name Euelthon in the Cypriot syllabary. The reverse is struck in deep incuse, consistent with archaic hammered coinage technique. |
