Reverse description The reverse presents a multi-line Arabic mint and administrative legend in bold Naskh script, densely arranged across the irregular flan. The mint name 'Herat' (هراه) appears prominently within the field as part of the standard Safavid striking formula 'ضرب هراه' (Struck in Herat), accompanied by additional formulaic religious and regnal phrases typical of Tahmasp I's eastern mint issues. The calligraphic execution reflects the Second Eastern Standard type, with robust, somewhat compressed letterforms characteristic of the Herat workshop during this period. The flan is slightly broader than the die, leaving portions of the rim plain, as is customary for hammered silver of this series.
