| Description du revers | The personification of Victoria, winged and draped, strides left across the field, holding a laurel branch in her raised right hand and a large round shield in her left. The shield is set upon a low base or captive figure in the exergue, a common compositional device on imperial bronze coinage of this period. The figure is rendered in confident, if somewhat provincial, relief. The encircling Latin legend VICTORIA AVGVSTI flanks the figure left and right, while the senatorial authority mark S C appears in the lower exergue, confirming this as a senatorial bronze issue struck at the Rome mint. |
