| Description du revers | Victory personified standing right, her wings spread behind her, resting her left foot upon a captured enemy helmet. With her right hand she inscribes the legend OB CIV SERV upon a large oval shield that is affixed to the trunk of a palm tree — a well-known symbol of the Jewish War triumph. The composition is a deliberate allusion to Vespasian's consolidation of power and his military victory. The senatorial authorization mark S C appears in the lower field to either side of the central design. |
