| Opis rewersu | A crowned upright sword occupies the central field, its blade pointing upward toward the crown, with the denomination mark 'X' (denoting ten shillings Scots) placed to the upper right of the blade. To the left of the sword a hand symbol appears, and the date 1567 is displayed flanking the blade in the mid-field. The composition is characteristic of the hammered ryal series of James VI's first coinage, with the date and value serving as the primary flanking devices.
