Obverse description Struck in copper, the obverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription filling the field, denoting the denominational value of 16 (aqche) in relation to the pul. The legend is rendered in a bold, somewhat rudimentary Naskh-style script typical of Golden Horde fractional copper coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, showing the characteristic uneven fabric of hammered medieval steppe coinage. Surfaces display heavy green and brown patination consistent with prolonged burial.
