| 表面の説明 | A episcopal crosier depicted centrally within an inner beaded circle, rendered in a bold, simplified Romanesque style typical of Catalan feudal coinage. The crosier head curves to the right within the inner field. A circular Latin legend reading AGRIMONT VRGI (Agramunt Urgell) surrounds the central motif, contained between an inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border. |

Armengol VIII spent much of his countship entangled in the complex feudal politics of the Catalan-Aragonese sphere, holding Urgell as a vassal of the Crown of Aragon while simultaneously pressing claims through his mother's line into Castilian territory. The Agramunt mint, active during his reign, was one of the few consistent points of monetary production in the county. Billon obolos of this type are rarely encountered in decent preservation — the low silver content and small flan made them vulnerable to both wear and corrosion in circulation.
