| Descrizione del rovescio | A plain Latin cross occupies the central field, dividing it into four quarters, within an inner beaded circle. The arms of the cross are bold and of equal length, characteristic of the hammered feudal coinage of the County of Urgell. A circular Latin legend reading ERMENGO COME (Armengol Count) encircles the cross between the inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border, with a cross pattée serving as a punctuation mark at the legend's commencement. |

Armengol VIII spent much of his countship entangled in the complex feudal politics of the Catalan-Aragonese sphere, holding Urgell as a vassal of the Crown of Aragon while simultaneously pressing claims through his mother's line into Castilian territory. The Agramunt mint, active during his reign, was one of the few consistent points of monetary production in the county. Billon obolos of this type are rarely encountered in decent preservation — the low silver content and small flan made them vulnerable to both wear and corrosion in circulation.
