Persis was one of the few regions that maintained semi-autonomous dynastic rule under Parthian overlordship, issuing its own silver coinage long after neighboring kingdoms had been absorbed entirely. The fractional silver of this period — obols struck to weights well under a gram — circulated alongside Parthian drachms in what was effectively a two-tier monetary system, local fractions serving retail exchange that imperial coinage could not efficiently serve.
The Nambed attribution in Alram and Sunrise places this piece within a sequence that remains poorly understood chronologically. Exact reign boundaries for Nambed are still debated among specialists.
