Beschrijving voorzijde	Facing bust of the king in a schematic, Romanesque style, with visible facial features including eyes and a bearded chin, wearing a draped garment with incised folds. The effigy is rendered in low relief typical of Aragonese hammered coinage of the early 12th century. The legend ARAGON runs around the periphery of the coin in Latin characters.

Beschrijving keerzijde	A central vertical cross or tree-like motif flanked on either side by a stylized serpent or dragon, rendered in a decorative Romanesque manner characteristic of Jaca mint coinage. The two creatures are symmetrically disposed, their bodies curving outward from the central device. The Latin legend ANFVS REX (Anfus Rex, i.e. King Alfonso) surrounds the design in the field.
