背面描述 At centre, a kantharos — the two-handled wine cup emblematic of Dionysos — is depicted in profile within a square incuse with rounded corners, a typical feature of early Karian silver coinage. The ethnic abbreviation ΣΥΑ appears above the kantharos, identifying the issuing city of Syangela. To the left of the vessel, an inverted bunch of grapes hangs as an additional Dionysiac symbol. The composition is compact and well-balanced within the incuse square, reflecting the standard iconographic programme of Syangela's civic issues.

附加信息

Syangela was a minor Karian settlement whose coinage is known almost entirely from a handful of small silver fractions. The city sat within a region that passed between Persian satrapal control and shifting Aegean alliances throughout the fourth century, which partly explains why its output was limited and its monetary identity never fully consolidated. Most known examples of this type have surfaced in western Anatolian hoards rather than through excavation, suggesting redistribution rather than local hoarding.
